About Glen Ellyn
Glen Ellyn is a picturesque town anchored by the beautiful Lake Ellyn. Once a premier vacation spot for Chicagoans in the early 1900's, Glen Ellyn is now one of the areas most desired suburbs. The village is rich with beautiful architecture set among rolling hills and tree lined streets. Glen Ellyn's historic downtown has many unique boutiques and restaurants and is the setting for several festivals throughout the year. Lake Ellyn, on the northeast side of town, features a 25-acre park and is a popular destination for fishing and ice skating. Lake Ellyn also hosts the highly anticipated Independence Day events including the Cardboard Boat Regatta and fireworks display. Toward the southern side of town is the highly-regarded Village Links Golf Course and the College of DuPage. Glen Ellyn is home to many parks, forest preserves, and the main branch of the Illinois Prairie Path.
Education has a strong emphasis here, with Glen Ellyn's two high schools on the Washington Post's List of 'Top U.S. High Schools.' With a Metra train station located downtown and its close proximity to major expressways, Glen Ellyn offers both the conveniences of suburban living with the ease of traveling to Chicago and beyond. Known as the Village of Volunteers, Glen Ellyn is rich with civic pride and a wonderful place to call home!
